SUBJECT: looking for answers
Hi.
I am almost 27 years old and have very irregular periods. I was on the pill for about 3 years to regulate my period and, after coming off them (about 2 years ago), my period is still not regular.
Recently, I have noticed some brownish spotting. It started about 7 days ago and is slowly diminishing. I have been searching "brown spotting" on the internet and almost every hit is related to pregnancy.
I took a home pregnancy test a couple days ago and it was negative.
I can't remember the last time I have had a "normal" period. Is this brown spotting simply my period...a very light one?
I have tested for PCOS, STDs, hormone imbalances, etc. in the past and they have all come back normal. My doctor keeps telling me that irregular periods may just be normal for me...but this explanation isn't so comforting to me. Does anyone have any answers? Similar experiences?
