SUBJECT: 9 mos...not napping...not staying asleep
Help! My son is 9 mos and needs sleep! After his colic ended at 4 mos..he went into a great sleep pattern for a few months of sleeping 12-13 hours at night(uninterrupted) and 2 hour morning nap and 1/2 hour-1 hour in afternoon. When he hit 7 1/2 months, he started napping only 1/2 hour in am and not at all in the afternoon. Now he barely naps in the morning too. He used to wake up talking and playing and laughing, and now he always wakes from sleep cranky and crying, always crying. He is clearly not sleeping enough.

He continues to sleep through the night. (We did have to train him to fall asleep on his own, and it worked great)

But it's the naps!!!! I have started letting him cry it out at naptime (45 mins max)and he does fall asleep after about that long. But he wakes up after exactly 1/2 an hour...on the dot ( and screaming). Seems like alot of crying and not alot of sleeping to me. We just started Weissbluth nap training, and after 2 days...no real improvement. He is tired, I am tired and the frustration I feel is overwhelming. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Kim
