Hi, The first thing to remember is that you are not alone. Your doctor probably had a "blind study" done. If so, I would feel comfortable with the results. My son was diagnosed around the same age. He is now 13. He has ADD, not ADHD. He is not at all hyper. However the other symptoms are present. My son is an honor student. If he truly has ADHD, you will see a difference with/without the meds. You will hear arguments for and against medication. You have to go with your heart. My son has been on medication since the age of 7. I placed him on Concerta (once a day medication) when he was 12, I noticed that he was blinking more than usual, now it could have been the meds, or maybe it was just part of him, I didn't take any chances, I switched to a different medication. What I'm trying to say, is that if you find things aren't working, just take him off, or switch. Whatever you do, do it with the advice and support of your pediatrician. By the way, my husband also gets frustrated. I've taken too much of your time, but there are things you can do (very simple and practical) to not only help your son, but give you some peace as well. I'm praying right this moment for you.

Remember, you're not alone, and I'll be in touch!
