SUBJECT: caught between in-laws
I have a very close relationship to my mother, father, & brother-in-law. My brother in law is 20, working a part-time job, & living w/ his mom & dad. His college was being paid for, but he failed for the 2nd semester in a row so now money is not being provided for him. About a month or so ago his parents went out of town & he threw a big party. His parents found out & told him that next time they went out of town that he would either have to go with them or stay at his grandparents house. They asked him if there was drinking & he said yes, but told them no when they asked about drugs. Next time they went out of town he got to stay home & he threw another party. According to my husband, he has always gotten away w/ everything. His parents always back out of their punishments w/ him or they make an excuse for him. Well, the other day he told me that there had been weed at the party & that he knew 'people' so that he didn't get caught. My question is...Do I break my brother-in-laws trust by telling his parents about what's going on or do I risk losing my mother & father & laws trust by not letting them know what's going on in their own house?
