I think you are absolutely right. I saw one instance in NY where a child (couldn't have been any older than 4) was being very very disruptive in the lay-a-way line of Wal-mart (day after thanksgiving....2 hrs. w/ this kid behind me). His mom kep asking him ever so politely to stop and to please behave ect. He basically laughed in her face. Was throwing himself all over the floor. She finally picked him up and put him in the basket (of course that didn't help) so she finally pinched his arm a little & he pinced her back & said "There, How do you like that?" My jaw dropped mainly because she didn't do anything about it! We defenitly need old school back.
