SUBJECT: When to worry about a Fever?
My 9mo. old D had an underarm temp of 100.5 last Fri. night, I called the exchange and the Dr. told me as long as she wasn't throwing up, was breathing and eating ok, there was no need to go to the ER. She also said if she was still running a fever in the morning, to bring her in. Of course she wasn't but by Sat. night it was 100.4 again. She was still acting normal and it was gone in a few hrs. after giving tylenol. I have read that the underarm temp on avg. is 1 degree lower so that means her temp was actually 101.5? Since the dr. didn't seem too concerned w/it, when is it time to worry? She just cut her top 2 teeth (2 days apart) about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I have heard that babies can run a fever when teething but that high? Thanks for any help/advice.
