SUBJECT: 9 Month Old hard to put to sleep
My wife and I have a 9-month-old son named Kane. For the first 5 or so months we would rock him to sleep or put him in his crib and rub his back or belly till he drifted off. Now days its getting ruff. For the past 2 months or so it has not been working so we have been tring lots of different things. We tried a week of CIO which worked the first day after 35 min of tears but the two following days, he went for just over an hour with no sleep following.

Right now when he sleeps we have been laying down with him which has been working untill the couple of weeks. He now knows how to stand and crawl and will not allow us to contain him. If I hold him to sleep with him, he fuses and scream and pull and pushes until he wiggles free. When he is super sleepy he will allow himself to be held but hits himself in the head or shakes his head back and forth to keep himself awake.

How can we get him to sleep? Are most of these actions normal or is something like Baby ADD that could be the cause? Are we doing something wrong? If cosleeping and CIO don’t work, what else can we try?
