SUBJECT: my 10-yr old's lies and manipulation
Does not appear to be much discussion on this site (more than a month), but here goes... My son has learned to lie and perform exquisite melodrama in order to manipulate his father and I (who are divorced) and get what he wants. My son told me himself that his father tells him that I am over-protective (ex: TV/video violence) and to not tell me when he is allowed to watch such programming or play such video games. He hears his father's lies to me about such matters. Given his father's behavior, how do I get my son to stop lying??? I could use some ideas.
