SUBJECT: Help with my diabetic 3 year old grandson
My grandson is almost three. About two months ago he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It has been a very difficult time. Anyway, I forget if he acted like this before, or if it just started because it seems like he's been like this forever. He throws things, bites us, hits us, screams at us, spits at us, and on and on. Then he will all of a sudden be so sweet and loving. I know that sometimes it's because his glucose level is high, but sometimes it's not and he stills acts like a crazy person. I love him so much, but have no idea what to do with him. Time outs, talkings to, re-direction, positive re-enforcment, do not work. Spanking definetly does'nt work. The times I have spanked his bottom he just hits back or throws something at me.

Help!
