SUBJECT: Jealousy and bad behaviour
Hi I am a mother of 2 girls aged 4 and 2. My oldest girl is a total mystery to me! She can be as nice and cooperative as you would want one minute then turn into a total monster the next. She does exactly what she wants - takes no notice of me or anyone else, insults us and can become violent towards anyone who tries to physically stop her. Her sister on the other hand is totally different...she is sweet and gentle - always happy to please.
We never compare them or tell the eldest to be more like her sister, we try to talk to her and to make her understand that her behaviour is unpleasant but don't seem to get anywhere with her.
I need some tips as to how to deal with her when she is in one of her bad moods - I know that the problem is not with her, but with the rest of us as we do not know how to handle her. I have to add that she is at daycare and is a perfect
child there...
Hope to hear from anyone who has some good advice!
