SUBJECT: Could 1yr old be having night terrors?
Hi!
I am a 26-year-old first-time mom. My son will be one in a few days. For the past few weeks, he has been waking up around 7 or 8 times a night. When he wakes up he is screaming and crying and throwing things out of his crib. When we go into his room to pick him up, our comforting doesn't work. He will continue to scream and cry for a few minutes and then calm down. During the day he is a mild-mannered, pleasant, great kid. At night he is a horror!
I have read that night terrors usually start around 2 but could this be what he is experiencing? What should I do to help him?
