SUBJECT: 5 1/2 yr. old son still has accidents.
Hello,I'm new to this message board. I need some advice. My son is just starting to go to the potty on his own, but he will not use the toilet. He has a fear of using the toilet, because he's afraid that he will fall in. He's in grade primary, and he will not go to the bathroom at school. So, he will hold it in until he gets home. But, his teacher keeps on pushing me to take him to the doctor over this. My son is shy and quiet so therefore he's probably afraid to ask the teacher when he has to go. Plus, he's afraid to use the toilet The teacher thinks that's something is automatically wrong because he holds it in at school. She is afraid he will get an infection and get sick because of it. But, he will try and go at home but not in school. I hope someone can offer me some advice on what to do? Should I listen to the teacher and take him to the doctor? I think on my son's part it's more of an emotional thing. But, I don't know what to think about it now. Am I being CRAZY, or is the teacher?
