 | I have been w/my new husband for 3 yrs, just married about 6 mos ago. He has a 6 yr old girl from a prev relationship, they were never married. My problem is, I can't seem to develop a bond w/her. She visits every weekend and sometimes I find myself just dreading it and thinking of reasons to be gone. I'm nice to her when she's around, I take her places and things, but it just isn't developing into a relationship. I don't really like kids that much, I never thought I would even want any of my own(which I do now), so it's extra weird for me. I feel like an outsider, like I'm butting in on HIS family. He's assured me that he wants me to be part of it and have our own children within a few years, but I still am unhappy. I really do wish she didn't exist, I know that's awful and selfish, and I knew what I was getting into when I married him. Can anyone offer advice?? |
