SUBJECT: Constant worrying
I am a first time Mom of a generally healthy and well-adjusted 20 month old. My problem is that I am in a constant state of worry over my son's health. Even though he has experienced nothing more severe than ear infections/colds/hives I find myself in a chronic state of panic, worrying he MIGHT get sick, MIGHT develop a fever, MIGHT injure himself. I went back to work in April and can't afford to stay home; his caregiver is wonderful, my Mom picks him up from the babysitter often. He eats well, sleeps well (usually), plays well but I catch myself following him around with a thermometer, or studying his mannerisms for a sign that he is unwell. I am driving myself crazy checking on him 2 or 3 times a night. The nurses at the Health help line know me by name because I call so much!
Am I the only over-anxious Mom out there???
