Boy oh boy does this sound all too familiar - and I wish I had some really good things to tell you but I'm about at the end of my rope as well. Worse, my son is about ready to get kicked out of his 2nd preschool before he's even 4! I've been to counselor after counselor, had him tested twice, and read every single book I could get my hands on. I know the screams, I get a headache just thinking about them. My son doesn't make messes on purpose, but boy, he does everything else. I'm a single parent on top of that and I'm completing graduate work while working full time so easy it is not. He was recently put on Adderal medication to see if this may work but so far no improvement at all. I tried the meds as a last resort after I tried everything else. I love him dearly and he can be the sweetest in the world, but a few hours later I think he needs an exorcism. One word of advice I can give you is that you should try to choose your battles - it sounds like you're trying to handle everything all at once which will be terribly overwhelming for you. If I were you I would think of one or two behaviors that bother you the most, and focus on extinguishing those (I know, easier said than done). It's nice to hear that people have 10 year old sons now that are getting straight A's in school but my God, that's still 6 years away! I know how trying these times can be, I had to leave work to pick up my son yesterday because the school called - third time in one month! If you saw my child behave, you would certainly know you are not alone. I've often thought of starting a support group for parents like us - sometimes I think the one in counseling and on medication should be me instead of him. Hang in there, let me know if I can help further even if its just by lending an ear.
