| Hi, I read your messages and I relate to you since I felt the same way you do now when I was first diagnosed with UC 6 months ago. (And I must admit that I still worry, specially when I think about the higher risk of getting colon cancer.)
As far as the colonoscopy, don't worry! They put you under and you won't feel a thing. You'll feel a little gassy after the procedure, but it does not hurt at all. I found the preparation for the exam to be more of a pain than the exam itself.
I am not pregnant yet, because my dr. recommended that I was in treatment for a while before I did. (Actually I'll go see him on Monday and I hope he gives me the OK to start trying.) The thing that scares me is being on Asacol during pregnancy. The dr. said it's just like aspirin and that it won't hurt the baby, but still, I'm a little skeptical about that.

I also would like to know from those who have been diagonosed a while back, how ofen do you get a colonoscopy? And has it gotten better, worse?
