My daughter got head lice awhile ago. We never had to deal with this before. We did mayonnaise, multiple shampooing, dog shampoo, hairspray, RID shampoo and noe of ir worked. I pulled over 200 nits off her head that first night. It took me five hours!!! The next morning I got about 40 more, that night 25 more...until it diminished to none. Morning and night I sat with a work lamp and did very tiny sections of hair until I was sure they were gone. She initially had 3 live lice in her hair!

I did all that and they were gone, until she went back to her dads house and we did the whole ordeal again. I felt so bad for my daugher.

Clean up around the home and individually nit removalare the two best sure fire ways to get rid of them. Vaccuming is a sure fire way to clear the floors and clean your bedding. I did these things daily until they were gone.

To protect our other 3 kids I also coated my daughter's hair with hairspray to "lock" the nits in until we could shampoo and remove them.

It takes a lot of work...good luck.
