SUBJECT: How/When to tell you child about their father?
My husband and I recently found out he has a 2yr old daughter. The mother and my husband agreed apon a temporary visitation schedule. He has one visit per week for one hour. Their agreement is about to expire and they will be talking about another temporary agreement. They (husband and mother of child) are trying to slowly introudce my husband to the child. They are getting to know one another at this point in the game.

The mother has a boyfriend, who has just about been in the this little girl's life since day one. She has started to call him daddy. My questions is this...when should they tell her my husband is her dad too? Right now, she is calling him by his first name? At what age are they able to understand. We don't want to confuse her.

A concerned step mom
