I'm so scared with child custody laws!

I am a single mother of a 3 month old baby boy. I am in no way together with his father. I only talk to him because I have to. It is so hard to get along with him. We have our on and off times of non-arguing communication, but most of our conversations end in argument.
Anyway, I live with both of my parents. My father is in the military and we will be leaving from this state in March 2006. My baby will be 2 and a half months by then.
The baby's father really wants to be in his life, but is definitely NOT a good influence for my baby. I don't want my baby getting too close to him because I don't want him looking up to him as a role model. Right now, the father of my child is complaining about getting to see his child more and he wants more and more freedom with him. He really wants to be in this child's life.
I am worried that by the time it is time for me and my family to move, my baby's father will be too attached to the baby and try to do something to get more freedom.
Do I have anything to worry about??! I am so worried. I don't want him to be able to keep my child on weekends or during summers or anything. If he wants to see my baby, I say he should fly over and see him every once in a while. What kind of visitation would a judge give him?
Please give me some info. I am in need of someone to talk to.
