SUBJECT: Has anyone had an External Cephalic Version??
Hi Everyone,

I am 29 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) and my baby boy is in the breech position. My midwife told me not to worry yet, but I am a tad concerned because I know that he has been in that position for weeks now (because he keeps knocking my bladder around!).

Anyways, I have been reading up on breech babies, and I have noticed that most doctors will try an External Cephalic Version (manually turning the baby at 36 weeks). This concerns me because of the complications that could arise, resulting in emergency c-section. Also, I heard it can be very painful!!

I am considering that IF my baby does not flip to the head down position by the 36th week, I will just tell them to do a c-section and forgoe the manual turning.

Has anyone ever had the External Cephalic Version done before? Do you have recommendations or opinions about it??

Thanks so much!
