Your message really touched me. Because I believe your child may be ADHD. Although I am not a doctor I can't diagnose him, but I can tell you from my own experience with my son that some of the things you are expeiencig are some of the same things my son has done in the past. No fear, my son had no fear of anything and honestly still does not. My son is very impulsive and yours appears to be. My son too also does not like to wash his hair. My son also hits other children for no reason just to get a reaction out of them. Please get with a doctor to get a diagnose. Your son has no control over his impulsivity. And yes, it is VERY hard to live with. My son is now four and was diagnosed at 2 with ADHD, he has been kicked out of daycare 4 times and is on medication and doing very well. He will start kindergarted next year. We are still learning to control his impulsis. I too have tried every other punishing techinque known to man. None worked. My child is unique and has to have unique parenting skills. You are more than welcome to email me regarding this, I will be here to help. I know it is hard and perhaps something you don't want to face but believe me, your son will greatly benefit from it in his future and educatiing your husband will help as well. tjmace@uh.edu Lots of Prayer!
