I've once heard that some kids are afraid to poop in the toilet because they feel like they are losing a body part. Kids sometimes have fears that make no sense to adults. You can try getting her to watch videos or cartoons while sitting on a potty chair in the middle of the living room. Is there a particular time of the day when she is most likely to have a bowel movement? Sometimes kids get so tuned in to the cartoons that they are not aware that they are making a BM in the potty chair. Afterwards give lots of praise if it works. Do you have a bedwetting alarm? If you do, you can try stitching the cotton strip in the rear part of the underwear rather than the front where a child urinates. If there is any moisture at all, the alarm goes off. It won't stop her from having a BM but everyone in earshot will hear the alarm when she is passing a BM. It would be a good time to pick her up and rush her to the bathroom. If she makes it to the bathroom, you give her praise and comment on how wonderful it is to have an alarm to help so she doesn't resent the alarm going off. Sew the cotton strip in previous poop stain that was in her underwear. I don't think the laundry totally cleans it out. My son use to have one these alarms for bedwetting but I noticed that even a tiny drop of water (literally) would set off the alarm. If he was sweating the alarm would go off. At the very least it will make her more aware of her BMs. Try to keep positive, lots of praise even you don't make it fast enough. Just her cooperation in keeping the alarm on is worthy of praise. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
