 | Well, I'm a slow-pressure cooker. So I know when I'm reaching the boiling point. I've arranged drop-in care with a local preschool. When I know I'm near that point, he spends a few hours at the school. And I do something. Maybe a movie. Maybe a massage or a facial. Maybe an ice cream sundae. Maybe I talk to friends on the phone.
If that's not possible, I see if he can go next door to visit another child. If dad is home, I tell dad (with that look on my face) to go deal with him, and I go in my bedroom and close the door.
