SUBJECT: ?'s for moms who use newbrn/inf family daycares...
I am a home dc provider. I am planning to change from watching older, preschool age kids, to watching only newborns and infants. Infant care is very hard to find in our small town. I will take 3 max and that is all the dc kids I will take. I plan to only watch them until they are walking, 15 mo, or 18 months (haven't decided the cut off age yet). I want to provide a specialized service and want to offer things working moms want. What are things you would want to see if you were looking for care for your newborn/infant. Anything special such as provider qualifications, items available for the baby, hours the provider is available, etc. Would you be willing to pay more for this type of service? Or would you prefer to have your newborn exposed to different age groups? I have been in childcare for quite a while now, but no one in town takes infants and I would like to offer not just a place to take your baby that is safe, but a truly great loving environment and I want themoms to be very happy. Any suggestions would be great.
