SUBJECT: Afraid to take off diaper
My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been potty training on and off for about 6 months now. I have not pushed her at all, only offering the potty as an option. She was in the tub the other night and started to cry asking to put a diaper on because "poopy was coming!" So I said how about you sit on the potty, she was ok with that...well she sat & sat and finally had a BM but was scared so stood up midway through and some went on the floor. She was beside herself- I calmly told her it was fine I would just pick it up and put it in the potty and then praised her for using the potty. But this has seemed to tramatize her, she will no longer sit down in the bathtub for fear of "poopy coming out". and whenever i take her diaper off she freaks out. I don't know what to do. Any advice?
