AUTHOR: sleeplessinphx | | | I know this is an old post but I thought I would share some information that would be helpful even now, 2 years later. You never mentioned whether he was slow academically or socially. In case it was academic, I'd like to inform you that my own child was also considered slow in all areas. Doctors, teachers, speech and language therapists, psychologists made it clear to me that he would never be like his peers. They were all wrong. He's 12 now and receives As and Bs in all his classes. He has all the same requirements that the other children have except he still has a resource reading class. He's about ready to get tested out of that too. As he got older he would get these spurts. If you (or anyone else)is interested, I could fill you in on more details. His progress was so dramatic, he amazed the school psychologist. I hope this may help someone. | | | |
