my friend had not been on birth control and it took her and her husband 5 years to have their first but it happened naturally. they never used any birth control after the birth and didn't conceive and didn't want their kids to be too far apart. then after about 1 1/2 years since their baby was born they decided to try fertility treatments. she went in and they ran a pregnancy test first and sure enough she was pregnant. they did some tests and believe that she was getting pregnant but miscarrying early. she had to take a suppository for the first 12 weeks and that was it. i believe that her body was not producing enough of something to keep the placenta attached. i am sorry i don't know the specifics. she is the mother of 2 healthy baby boys. good luck.
