Hi Kristin! Thanks for the note. He had his eval. and did fine, physically and cognitively he is right on target, and they said his speech is just a little behind average. So he passed and we don't qualify for free speech therapy. I think he passed because in the past week he started to make "m" sounds with his tongue sticking out. I'm going to look into if our health insurance will cover some speech therapy if I don't hear any new sounds by his first birthday. (exactly one month from now) They said if he is still making the same sounds and nothing new in 4-6 months to call them back and have him re-evaluated. They pointed out to me that he communicates through body language and different pitched vowel sounds, and that's a good thing. The only things he's not good at are speech and imitating. I thought the not imitating thing was a big deal, but I guess it's not as big of a deal as it needs to be to be eligible for this program. So I'll be keeping a close eye on his skills over the next few months, I'm sorry I have to run, he's up from his nap already!!
