 | I'm sorry things are so bad in your area. It must be hard to deal with that. I couldn't explain fully what happened because there is a character limit on this website. I had over fifty people at this party and was responsible for their safety as the party was at my home, so I could not let this little girl go back outside and endanger the other guests. Also, this was my daughter's birthday that I had planned for months and spent over a thousand dollars on. I was not about to miss the birthday cake, presents, and fun becuase of another parent's irresponsibility. I called the police thinking they could help me find the mother, who provided me with the contact number herself after I specifically asked for a number to be reached in case of an emergency. The officer who came to our home, who is also one of our neighbor's sons, offered to take the little girl to the station so I would not have to miss my daughter's party. He thought that maybe this will make the mother think next time and also that this would be a good lesson for the little girl. I don't know what else I was supposed to do when the mother made a verbal threat but to call the police again? That is against the law and is a serious offense with which she has been charged under the laws of our state. These girls can't be going to daycare as they are in first grade. The way our school is at dismissal time is that every child uses the same entrance unless they ride the school bus. All the parents assemble in the same parking lot/circular drive to pick up thier children. It is like Macy's on the day after Thanksgiving. I will talk to the principal about allowing me to get my daughter directly from the classroom. Thank you for that suggestion. What kinds of rude and undesirable behaviors have you experienced in private schools, and what kind of private schools? Is it really to this magnitude? |
