I agree, we do need to take our parenting back! But where I disagree is that no child needs a smack across the mouth. I think as much to blame for anything is the fact that parents divorce at the drop of a hat. This leaves a child either running back and forth to two seperate lives of they are desserted by one of the parents altogether and as a result miss half of the parenting they need. This also forces children into daycare, which is a poor substitute for parenting. If we aren't there to parent, then how can we blame these children for misbehaving? No amount of "smacking" is going to replace the good foundation of a stable home.

This is just my opinion too. And I agree, let's take our parenting back, but let's start with us.
