 | I went through the exact same scenario. I tried EVERYTHING for 3 months. Nothing worked. I researched it, I talked to the doctor. Finally, one day I bit him back hard, not enough to break the skin of course. I said no very firmly, and then left him to console himself. He was 14 months old. It worked. It was the only thing that he understood. A child this age is incapable of logic in my opinion, so telling them that it hurts so they shouldn't do it, or timeouts is just ineffective. They understand NO, but it's not working for you in this case. If you allow this to go on, I think it becomes harder to stop, and pretty soon biting back will also not work because they become more and more complicated little people. |
