Your not a horrible mother. Maybe your son just thought that you were hurting his daddy. He may understand that what you were doing is not right (for him) and he does not know what that is but maybe just had a terrible feeling it was not right. Talk to him ask him what he saw and maybe he will let you know why he was screaming. He just probably got scared because he didn't know what you were doing? I would do what the other guy suggested get a door lock just for you and your husband.
