SUBJECT: Overweight Boys
I have 2 boys, one is 9 and one is 12, they are very active and are involved in every sport and are usually at the top of their class in school in all areas. They are usually one the best in every sport they play as well. However, they are over weight. They have been overy weight since they were born except the 9 year old - he was fairly thin until he was about 5. He is a little shy. I have struggled with this my whole life because I am overweight. My husband is very fit. We are all very healthy and strong. I can't seem to reason with the 9 year old, he will still cry sometimes if certain foods are taken away of limited or restricted completely. My 12 year old does much better with things now but it is a constant up and down battle for him. I would appreciate any advice. We know most of the usual stuff, like offer nutritous foods - keep them active blah blah blah.
