You are NOT expecting too much. I always knew that spanish speaking children in an english speaking school spelled trouble for the academically advanced children. Find a private school for her, even if you have to cut a few corners. In some areas, they have montessori schools that go all the way up to the 6th grade! That is a great alternative if you do not want your child going to a private religious school. My 2 neices went to montessori school, and they were reading chapter books by the time they were 6 years old. My 3 year old is in montessori preschool now and will be moved to the regular montessori school when she is 5.
