I'm a 24 year old mother of two. I had a Merina IUD inserted in May. It was more painful than I had anticipated. There was alot of bleeding and alot of cramping after the first month things got better. My husband complains about the strings poking him during sex. I got the IUD because I was afraid of tubal ligation and the Depo shot was keeping me from losing my baby weight. I came home from the hospital at 180lb after two months on the shot I was 215lb after 4months with merina I weigh 170lb. If you definately don't want anymore children I suggest tubal ligation. If you go on and get merina take someone with you because it is hard to walk . You have contractions. My first one flew right out after they put it in.
