I commend you on your love for your child and your high level of protectiveness. It is sad that our culture still does not embrace those children who have special learning styles. I have a child who is in the process of being diagnosed with a speech delay. I can only pass on something that has worked a little with our family. I read on a posting once on this very site- that singing a potty song may interest the child. We have given up making our son try the potty- but in order to get his attention- we sing the song when we go- " This is where we poop and pee, poop and pee, poop and pee, this is where we poop and pee on the potty." Then when we are finished we make a big deal and say " yea, mommy went pee pee on the potty." He usually claps with us and cheers. I can't say it has worked totally, but it may be a start for you. Good luck!
