SUBJECT: raising two special needs children
Hi I'm Sabrina and I'm a 34 year old single parent. I have two boys- one's autistic(high functioning thank God) and the other's developmentally delayed which means he's going to take a little longer than the average child to catch on. He has no speech yet even though he's 3 years old. I have God in my life which makes all the difference because I can pray and have hope that they're going to be fine. My question is for you parents with similar situations, whether you have special children or you're just single parents, what do you do to keep your sanity through it all? Do you know of any organizations that helps single mother's with special children as far as getting a break every now and then? Thanks to all those that respond and God bless! Sabrina from Chicago
