Good Afternoon;

My son is 6 years old and has also been recently diagnosed with ADHD. He is exhibiting terrible behaviors at school and a couple of incidents have occured after school. I kind of believe that he can control his behavior, because he never acts that way at home. As a matter of fact, I received a call from his school asking to please pick him up. He was having another bad day. I walked in on one of his "episodes". The moment he saw me, he instantly calmed down. His whole demeanor changed. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Part of me believes that he's testing the waters at school and just needs a spanking, but the other part of me is a little apprehensive in doing so. I read that corporal discipline is not effective for a child with ADHD since they are already impulsive. He's spent more time out of school than in and I always feel as though I'm rescuing him. I need effective parenting that works long-term. I would also very much like to know more about the visits you and your daughter had with her pediatric neurologist. I would like to find a healthy remedy for my son. I love him and would like to see him be more successful in school. Any information or advice you could offer would be very helpful and very much appreciated. (Thanks.)
