| I have no idea what brought about my UC either. At first, the doctors all thought I brought home some sort of intestinal bug from St. Martin. My symptoms started in July 1993 after I returned home from a weeks vacation on the island. I was tested for absolutely EVERYTHING until a colonoscopy revealed the colitis.
Yeah, there is an increased risk for getting colon cancer. I wouldn't worry about it!! Just be happy with your babies and try to be optomistic. They say cancer feeds off of negative feelings...I believe it. Make sure you get colonoscopies as frequently as your docor recommends (if your insurance allows it), and stick to a diet that agrees with you. I haven't had a salad, corn or nuts since 1993. I just take my vitamins, and drink fresh juice. Invest in a juicer!! The fresh veggies and fruit can be expensive but, the juice is the best thing for you...especially now being pregnant.
