AUTHOR: Kim B-P | | | My youngest daughter, now 19 and a college freshman, has dyslexia and was taught to read by the Orton-Gillingham approach. It is multisensory and structured, and it works! I have heard good things about the Linda Mood-Bell system. I'd suggest you check out the International Dyslexia Association for more info. I am currently being trained to tutor dyslexic kids with the Orton-Gillingham approach, and am a new M.S.W. opening a practice to offer advocacy and counseling services for children and their parents with learning disabilities so that the children can be successful with education and happy, well adjusted kids who are working up to their potential. The are very bright and creative people.I'd be glad to pass on what I have learned as a parent advocate for my daughter. | | | |
