who ever said that a 3 year old is supposed to sit still all day. i think 15-30 minutes of play at one thing is considered being very focused. my 3 year old has very selective hearing, kind of like his dad :) i can call his name forever and if he is playing i get no reaction, but then if i whisper the word "candy" he comes running so i know he can hear me. the things you describe all seem very normal for a child of that age. go ahead and have your child evaluated but try not to dwell on this one persons opinion. by the way i let my son eat on the run during the day, he just has so much energy, i don't see how that would mean he is add/adhd. he loves to play and doesn't want to stop to come and eat. i don't think he would do well in a very organized class of any kind. was your daughter home with you all day up until now? i am sure it is just an adjustment she needs more than a day to make.
