My 4 month old daughter was in the ER last week with a fever of 103.5 and the only thing they could find with her was a "rippin' UTI". (Nurses words exactly)
Apparently it is quite common to newborns and more so for newborn boys under 3 months. Did they diagnose the bacteria? Elena had E. Coli which in laymans terms means some poop got inside her and caused the infection. When babies are that small the bacteria does not have very far to travel to get to kidneys. I was not told about any longterm damage that it could have caused. She was put on antibiotics and sent home after 6 days. They have to do some testing to ensure that she doesnt have any congenital defects but probably the cause was someone wiping her incorrectly. She seems to be doing fine now but I am worried about this recurring.

It was pretty scary but thankfully she wont remember anything when she grows up.
Good luck with your son : - )
