Most doctors do not clip short frenulums anymore. This mom was completely right to wait. I am a speech pathologist and can tell you that being "tongue-tied" does not mean they will definitely have speech issues. I think putting a baby through a painful procedure just because they may have a problem later is silly, the tongue can easily be clipped when the child is a little older and can have pain meds.
