Hi, I am in 7th grade and only 12 but still i have some thoughts on this problem. I think that if your son is not getting the material in school you should have him do summer school or you might even consider telling him that unless he gets his grades up in school that you are going to hold him back a year or maybe even changing schools to one that isn't so challenging.
