PLEASE HELP - Bad diaper rash

Hi there.

My daughter has had a diaper rash for the last 2-1/2 months. It was real bad initially (like an open sore on her butt and privates). I called the doctor and they prescribed Nystatin. It worked for the first 3 days, and it was almost cleared up, and then her butt got red again (but not as bad). Anyway, after that I have tried so many different things (Desitin, this "natural" ointment for diaper rash, cornstarch powder). Now just a couple days ago it just came back with a vengence. It is worse now then ever. Her poor butt is so red and she cries when she gets changed. : - (

I have tried to let her go naked to air her out every day.

Any other suggestions, home remedies, anything????

p.s. I went to the doctor and she said she thinks it is because she is teething (which she is). She never had any problems with her first 4 teeth she got at 7-1/2 months, but these are her front eyeteeth. But still, teething for 2-1/2 months would make her butt this red and sore I find hard to believe.... Help! Just 2 days ago she got a runny nose too, again, doctor says it is probably because of teething???
