SUBJECT: mixed handedness
hi, i know this subject really doesnt go in this topic, but i couldnt figure out where to classify it. my 16 year old daughter is mixed handed, meaning she can use her left and right hand equally in all tasks. she writes backwards better than she writes forwards. she can write with both hands at the same time, backwards and forwards. sometimes she turns letters and numbers around, like she is dyslexic. also, i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but she eats her food in a precise order, never changing, always very particular about the way she eats things. she has a few other odd quirks, like tightening her muscles in her legs every time she passes a road sign, mailbox, etc. while riding in the car. in class or at home, she listens better if her hands are occupied while you are talking. in class if she can draw or color, she can recall all of the information from the lecture. while she sits still she twirls her hair, bites her lips, nails, taps her feet, pencils, fingers. shes always moving, she cannot sit still. it seems like my child has many different disorders, dyslexia, obsessive compulsive disorder, add.... what do i do? is there any classification for someonel ike her? should i take her to a specialist and find out what to do?
