 | I have a one month old. get another doctor. I would recommend mine to call if you email me I will give you his number-it doesn't matter what state you are in-my ped is a GOD SEND!
I had the very same problem with my little girl and it tore me up to see her screaming. Come to find out she could not digest cow's milk. We put her on Isomil, and you should get gas drops (Simethicone drops). This instantly relieves gas and acid build up and you can use it up to 12 times a day (once an hour). As soon as we put her on Isomil (I also breastfeed), and gave her gas drops, she became a smiling, happy baby and cried less often. BENEDRYL TO MAKE HER SLEEP?? yes that will make her sleep but that wont help her problem.
Also...babies love to be laid across your lap on their bellies. Just gently lay your child across your knees, straddling her carefully, then vigorously rub her back up and down -that can loosen some of the gas. Do this with a combination of patting the back (as you would burp her). Try a combination of Isomil, gas drops, and 15 minutes of lap time after each feeding. And most of all, dont worry-from what I have been told, this stage will pass soon. Colic is a very common condition (as baby jaundice and baby acne) because during this time their bodies are trying to adjust to so many changes.
*Remember, too....babies can sense when their mothers are frantic and nervous-the more worked up you get, the more worked up she will get. Try (as hard as it is!) more to focus on soothing her while trying some of the methods I suggested-she needs to know ONE of you is not in distress! let me know how it went, PLEASE!!! |
