I am so sorry for your loss. I was diagnosed with missed abortion on 10/7/03 and had a D&C on 10/9/03. There was no emotional support at the MD's office. I was told that this "happens" often.
I was pregnant with twins. The whole experience of that MD visit has prompted me to find another MD group that are more sensitive to my needs. I felt and still feel that I was on a conveyor belt and when I got off of it I felt like a shell with all of the pregnancy hormones to go with it. I realize that the MD's are very busy but maybe they need to have some type of support for women if this happens often. I felt like I was forced to make a decision without my husband there, totally alone and on top of that I am a asthmatic so you could imagine the stress level. We as women need to take a more active role in choosing our MD's. For me this was a wake up call, I realize that nothing could have been done in my case. As far as I am concerned, they were my babies and through the 9 weeks that I was pregnant, my husband and I loved them. We call them our "Wee ones". God Bless you in your decision, my husband and I are hopeful that the next try at pregnancy along with my new MD will bless us with a healthy positive outcome. My prayers are with you.
