I have 3 children ages 2,3, and 4 so I could not spend that much time with the one patting her on the back but that is a wonderful idea. I think that is what they do at day-care. I took her to a therapist and she made a chart that says she gets One Hug and One Kiss from mommie and daddy each and if she does not whine and goes to sleep she gets to color the happy cat on the chart. If she does not comply she colors the sad dog on the same chart. The idea is to see how many happy cats she can color. If she has more happy cats she gets a sticker and a card full of stickers gets a trip to the treasure chest of toys the therapists has she can select which one she wants. I only did this last night and it worked but you know it may not work everytime. I will let you know though and thank you so much for your advice.
