Please do not let anyone convince you that this child needs daily medication in the 5th grade. There has been a lot of new research done on ADD. Many parents use this as an easy out so they do not have to radicaly change their lifestyles. In reality, there may be one or two children out of an entire school DISTRICT that actually need medication. The rest are on it just to make the teachers and parents jobs easier.

I am glad they did not have this diagnosis when I was a child. My brother would have gotten it for sure. He now is a very successful broker, and still figits and daydreams all the time at 40. Notice how when parents started haivng less toime for their kids, ADD magically appeared as a disease.
